Growing Up!

Luke just celebrated his 5th birthday. I can hardly believe he will be starting Kindergarten this year! He was very excited to be 5 and was so sure that his feet were bigger and that he had grown taller. Now when he accomplishes something, he says, "It is because I am 5 now!" Lukie was born on Father's Day, so he thought it was pretty cool that his birthday fell on Father's Day this year. Happy Birthday Buddy!!

Ducks, Ducks, and More Ducks!!

There is a duck pond nearby our home. All winter long, we would drive by and the kids would beg to go see the ducks although there were no ducks at the time, so now that the weather is nice, we finally decided to take them. We have gotten smart over the years. This year, they each got their own bag of already broken bread so there was no way they could argue. They had such a good time. Luke wanted to get as close as possible to the ducks and thought he could accomplish this by running really fast towards them. He just didn't understand why they kept running away. Savannah was very patient and calm, and by the end of the adventure, they were almost in arms reach. Kate had a great time. She just kept saying "Oh, Oh" over and over while we were there. She wanted down, but we were afraid she would be mistaken as a duck!

I am a Magnet for Bad Luck!

Eric and I decided to go see the new Indiana Jones movie at the theater. We rarely go to the theater to see a movie, but instead just wait until it comes out on video. Well, each time we go, Eric makes me pick the seats. I am very selective, because it does not fail, every time, I pick an area with people who are annoying throughout the whole show. To name a few; chomping their popcorn(loud enough I could have sworn there was a cow sitting behind me) kicking my seat, sticking their feet in my face, talking loudly through the entire movie, sneezing on me, the list goes on. Well this time beat all. Their were two young boys sitting on our row. A few minutes into the movie, one pulled out a large sucker, and every few seconds he would make a beyond loud slurping sound. After about 30 minutes of this, Eric waited for a very quiet part in the movie and said loudly(which is not hard for him to do), "Hey Slurpee, eat quieter"! Well, that took care of the slurping. We were afraid that the parents would show up at the end and beat us up so we got out of there pretty quick. Needless to say, don't sit with me at a movie, but if you do, be prepared to be annoyed or embarrassed. You decide which is worse. It is a toss up for me!!
