Making Changes!

Well, we finally painted the house. It was a really drastic change and my only requests to Eric were there had better not be any white on the house and the door needs to be red. Thanks Eric for trusting me to choose the colors (with the help of Steve) and thanks to the many friends and neighbors who helped out with the whole process. We could not have done it without your help. Scraping, power washing, priming (it took 45 gallons of primer), and the best part, painting. I think it turned out pretty great, but I still don't recognize it and have driven right by a few times, still looking for the white paint peeling house. Eric is ready to take a break from home improvement, but I am sure I can talk him into starting another project!

We used 4 paint colors. The eaves are painted a slate color and really tie in all the colors, but it is not very noticeable in this picture.

Family Vacation

This year for our family vacation, we went to the exotic, and distant.......
Park City! I know, it sounds kind of lame, but I have to say, it was one of my favorite vacations we have been on with our children. We stayed at a really nice resort in Park City (thanks Lori and Gary!) and we were tourists in SLC. We spent most of our time swimming, but we also made some time to sight see, including This is the Place, Temple Square, The Church History Museum, and of course the outlets at Park City. There is a new exhibit at the Church History museum, called "I am a Child of God" and the kids loved it! It is definitely worth going to! Vacationing nearby home does have some pros; we spent less time in the car which made for a happier baby, less money on gas, and it left us more time to be together!

Savannah's Big Day!

Savannah had her first day of preschool! Right before taking her, I surprised her with a new backpack. I know, what does a preschooler need with a backpack, but as you can see, the look on her face in the top picture made it all worthwhile. As soon as she got her backpack on, she was ready to go, and took off for the van. She looked so cute walking off, and seemed so grown up, until she turned around and did her signature Savannah dance. She had a great first day at school and is excited to go back, which is huge step for her!!

Flower Power!

Early in Spring, Luke had some sunflower seeds he wanted to plant, so I told him to find some dirt in the yard and plant them. I had no idea where he put them, until they sprouted on the side of the house right next to the driveway where we park the van. He was very diligent in watering his sunflowers and it was really amazing for him to watch them grow from the seeds he planted. Maybe next year, he can try his green thumb at a garden! (He will have some competition from the dog, who mysteriously has pumpkins growing in his dog run)
