Once again, I am really slow at posting things when the event happens, so here is Luke's first day of Kindergarten and his first soccer game!
Watching 4 and 5 year olds play soccer has to be one of the most entertaining things I have seen! The kids definitely have fun out there. Even though it is great and they are learning to play the game, it has been more fun to watch Luke interact with the kids on his team and the other teams. When Luke is not out on the field playing, he loves to cheer his team on. He got everyone on the red team chanting, "Go Red" over and over. Luke scored two goals and could hardly believe it. Of course, he stretched the truth and told Grandma that he scored six goals. I am glad to see him learning about team work and friendship as well as how to play soccer. Now if he could just learn about not stretching the truth!
Luke has been so excited for Kindergarten and has been anticipating it all summer long. Almost every day, he would ask if he could do his "homework". He loves to learn, write, and draw. I had a hard time letting him go on his first day of school, but he just gave me a hug goodbye and went to class like he had been doing it all his life. He really liked his first teacher, and then a few days into school, we were told they hired a new kindergarten teacher and Luke would be switching classes. He was really upset at first, but was excited after he met his new teacher and once he found out his friend Caleb would be in the same class.
Okay, here I am trying to be crafty again. These picture boards would not have been a success without the help of Erin (once again). Thanks for the great idea and for helping me complete these! I had a lot of fun making them! I made one for the kitchen and the bathroom. I love them both, but especially the one for the bathroom that I made specifically to hold all the hairclips for the girls. It is a much better way to store them and a lot cuter!
