Christmas Fun!

We had a great time at the different Christmas parties we attended this year. Here are some pictures of the kids sitting on Santa at our family party we have each year with my mom's family. This year, Luke reached a big milestone. This was the first year(since his first Christmas) that he sat on Santa! Last year, he hid under a table! Well, this time he was actually excited, and had quite a nice chat with Santa. Katelyn of course freaked out and was near convulsions. Savannah was so excited because she had told Santa at our ward Christmas party that she wanted Bolt the dog for Christmas and at this party, that is exactly what she received from him. She must have been really good this year:)

Christmas Fun!

Well, as you can all relate, December was a whirlwhind, and blogging had to be put on hold, but I am glad to be back! Of course, the month began with decorating the tree. Yes, we just have an artificial pre-lit tree, but I love it, and it is all our kids know. I am sure they have no idea that christmas trees traditionally don't come from a box in the basement. I know, kind of pathetic. Although only the bottom half of the tree was decorated(some areas in clumps of 5 ornaments per branch), the kids were very proud of their work, and it was a really fun night!

Walt Disney's Bolt

I've been so busy lately I haven't had much time to update my blog (in case you couldn't tell). I'll be posting pictures soon but I thought I'd quickly tell everyone about a movie our family recently saw in the theater; Walt Disney's Bolt... in 3D! The kids loved it and Eric and I thought it was pretty good also. It's definitely worth a rental in case you don't get to see it in the theater. Worth noting is that this is one of the few times Eric didn't have to tell anyone in the audience to keep it down, and Katelyn sat through the entire movie without making a peep...probably because we ensured there was a steady flow of popcorn and bottled water to keep her busy. Luke was very apprehensive due to an unfavorable experience the last time he went to the movies, but he eventually overcame his fear and enjoyed the movie with the rest of us. What a fun time!

Don't forget to check the date on anything that your children will eat.

Our children love Happy Meals from McDonald's. Being the somewhat health conscious parents we are we usually replace the soda included with the meal with chocolate milk. Our daughter wouldn't finish her milk during a recent visit, she said it tasted funny. We should have listened. Long story short later on that evening we ended up deep cleaning the bathroom and outlying areas and our children were reminded what it feels like to have food make its way back out the way it came in. We emailed McDonald's and they called us back. They were sincerely saddened by our episode and offered us some free happy meals...yippee.
